  1. 01. The Bike Farm Pisgah Mountain Bike Skills Coaching

The Bike Farm Pisgah is so fortunate to have a number of great coaches on our team. Lead Guide and Bike Farm Pisgah location manager Brian Curren spent the afternoon skills coaching our friend and great client Bow. One of the benefits of working with The Bike Farm Pisgah for mountain bike skills coaching is we have a confined and safe skills zone with progressive size drops, step ups, step downs, berms, rock gardens, skinnies, teeter totters, all the things to help hone your skills while you are out mountain biking in Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Recreation Forest. Bow first contacted The Bike Farm Pisgah for guided mountain bike rides in Pisgah and DuPont, and has since worked with us for skills coaching to reach the next level of his riding.

  4. 04. Crew from Boston take over Pisgah National Forest on Mountain Bikes

It was an absolutely perfect Pisgah week for our Motley Crew from Boston. These 12 guys have travelled the world riding, and this year their “boys trip” brought them to The Bike Farm for a weeks worth of mountain biking in DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest. They opted to do it in style, occupying all of our glamping tents, and we brought Mr. Evan Timmons from the celebrated Buxton Hall Barbeque in Asheville to cook breakfast, dinner and pack lunches. The weather could not have been better as the first colors of Fall started to peek through. With five full days of mountain biking in DuPont and Pisgah, visits to Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada, and Wicked Weed, these guys went home fully satiated, and exhausted. It was a super fun week with a great group of guys.

  5. 05. Check out the newest post on the Pisgah Mountain Bike Festival website

Halloween costume pump track party, for real?

The Pisgah Mountain Bike Festival is shaping up nicely, and a few tickets are still left! For those planning to procrastinate and buy tickets day of, you may want to reconsider. Check our demo page for a current list of vendors on hand. There are going to be a whole slew of the latest and greatest bikes from your favorite brands. As it is the Halloween weekend, no event would be complete without a costume contest, right? Saturday night it’s on. Rumor has it that costume contest could also entail riding a LITTLE kids bike on a BIG kids pump track. Prizes may or may not be awarded.

Guide assisted group rides in DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest for those unfamiliar with the area. Live music, great food, and fresh brews. Should be a good time for the whole family.

Check out Pisgah Mountain Bike Festival website for all the details

What the ladies from Everyday Fix Cyclery had to say about their mountain bike skills clinic with coach Brian Curren.
    ・・・
Our ladies’ group had a great time at the Grit Mountain Bike Clinic this past Saturday and picked up some good tips & info from Brian, who handled 5 women very well! Ha! Everyone did an awesome job in conquering all of the drills and we hope each participant walked away feeling more confident & proficient in their riding skills! It was a great way to spend a Saturday!

  9. 09. Blue Ridge Outdoors says summer road trip guide

Blue Ridge Outdoors names The Bike Farm as a summer road trip must. Camp and go mountain biking with a guide while not breaking the bank.

  10. 10. The Trans BC Enduro

As we recover from the Inaugural Trans BC Enduro powered by Stages Cycling we reflect on a week of great times and some of the steepest and rowdiest terrain we’ve ever ridden. We are both super grateful to have finished in one piece and had as much fun as we did along the way. A week spent pushing ourselves physically and mentally, laughing with old friends and making new friends along the way. It was a week we’ll not soon forget.

Cashion learned a lesson in poor tire choice on day two when he brought a carrot to a gun fight which led to three flats. Otherwise his bike held up to the punishment all week long.

While I wasn’t racing I was able to ride every stage but 2 (timing didn’t allow for riding them all) and had a blast helping out with the event. The other volunteers were hilarious and acting as a course marshall allowed me to speak with every rider as they stood at my post. There was a part of me that was bummed I wasn’t racing, but in the end the volunteer group was so much fun that I was happy riding the course and enjoying their company.
We HIGHLY recommend signing up for the 2017 Trans BC if you like riding technical trails in beautiful places with awesome people.

Thanks to all the media who lugged 40 pound packs to document the week.
